Exploring Regional Demand for Facelift and Arm Lift Surgery in North America
As plastic surgery trends evolve, more patients are turning to targeted procedures that rejuvenate the face and sculpt the body. In a new research study published on Zenodo, AestheticMatch’s Health Analytics Division analyzed online search interest in two increasingly popular procedures: facelifts and arm lifts.
Using Google Keyword Planner data from August 2023 to July 2025, the study measured monthly search volume and year-over-year growth across six of the largest cities in North America:
New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Chicago, Atlanta, and Montreal.
Key Findings from the Study
Unsurprisingly, facelift searches were highest in New York (18,500 monthly searches), followed closely by Los Angeles (17,200) and Toronto (15,900). These cities are long-standing hubs for aesthetic medicine and home to highly visible plastic surgery communities.
However, when looking at year-over-year (YoY) growth, the picture changes. Interest in arm lift surgery—a procedure often performed after major weight loss to tighten sagging upper arms—rose sharply in Atlanta (+8.7%) and Montreal (+7.3%), suggesting growing demand in non-coastal and bilingual markets.
The full study also notes a steady climb in searches related to “deep plane facelifts,” a more advanced version of the traditional facelift that repositions deeper facial tissue layers for longer-lasting results. Meanwhile, interest in “arm lift recovery time” and “best arm lift surgeon near me” also grew, signaling that patients are becoming more informed and proactive in their research.

What This Means for Providers and Patients
This trend offers key insights for plastic surgeons and clinics. While coastal cities like New York and Los Angeles dominate in volume, emerging metro areas are experiencing faster growth in procedure-specific interest. This means providers in Atlanta, Chicago, and Montreal should consider expanding their service offerings or educational content to match rising demand—especially around post-weight-loss body contouring.
For patients, these trends reflect increasing transparency and accessibility. As digital platforms like AestheticMatch grow in popularity, patients are more likely to start their cosmetic journey with region-specific research, often searching terms like “facelift near me” or “arm lift cost in Toronto.”
Final Thoughts
With the cosmetic landscape continuing to diversify, the demand for procedures like facelifts and arm lifts is expected to remain strong—especially as patients seek out safe, long-lasting, and customized results.
Surgeons and marketers alike can benefit from understanding these evolving patterns. Whether you're in New York or Montreal, tracking how patients search for procedures offers valuable insight into future growth opportunities and patient priorities.
