He later returned to South Florida to pursue post-graduate training. After working as a general surgery resident at Mount Sinai Medical Center, he joined the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston, where he successfully completed a plastic and reconstructive surgery residency program.

During his early private practice years, Dr. Ghersi developed a passion for aesthetic plastic surgery. In order to excel in this highly specialized field, he traveled across the country to visit and learn from some of the top surgeons in his specialty. Dr. Ghersi was also selected to participate in one of the most exclusive and renowned advanced aesthetic plastic surgery fellowship training programs in the country at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital as well as Lenox Hill Hospital in New York city. This experience granted him the opportunity to train directly under many of the world’s pioneers in plastic surgery of the nose and the aging face. Dr. Ghersi then returned to South Florida to co-found the plastic surgery institute of Miami, a premiere aesthetic plastic surgery group practice in Coral Gables, Florida.
