Brazilian Butt Lift vs. Breast Lift: What’s Driving Demand in 2025?
From TikTok transformations to long-form recovery vlogs, demand for body-enhancing cosmetic surgery continues to grow in 2025. But what are patients actually searching for—and where?
A new research study from AestheticMatch analyzed search trends for Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and breast lift procedures across 12 of the largest North American cities, uncovering regional patterns that every patient and provider should know.
What the Data Tells Us
Using Google Keyword Planner, the study compared average monthly search volume and year-over-year (YoY) growth between 2023 and 2025. The procedures studied—BBL and breast lift (mastopexy)—are among the most popular for reshaping the lower and upper body respectively.
Cities like Miami and Los Angeles topped the list for BBL searches, confirming their long-standing reputation as epicenters of gluteal enhancement. However, the study found that cities such as Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver showed higher YoY growth for breast lift searches, suggesting a rising demand in more northern markets.
Interestingly, Chicago—while often considered a conservative market—ranked mid-tier in total search volume but showed healthy interest in both procedures, indicating balanced demand.
Why Patients Are Exploring These Procedures
BBL remains popular due to its dual benefit: fat removal from unwanted areas (via liposuction) and augmentation of the buttocks using the patient’s own fat. However, rising awareness about BBL safety protocols—especially around anesthesia and certified surgeons—has made patients more selective in their research.
In contrast, breast lift procedures appeal to those who want a more natural enhancement without the use of implants. Many are post-pregnancy patients or individuals experiencing sagging due to weight loss or aging. Surgeons note that breast lifts combined with fat grafting or implants continue to rise in popularity, depending on the patient’s goals.
What This Means for Providers
Plastic surgeons, medspa marketers, and aesthetic clinics can use this data to better target patients by region and procedure interest. Cities like Houston, Atlanta, and San Francisco show strong BBL demand, while Toronto, Montreal, and New York could benefit from breast lift-focused campaigns that speak to both cosmetic and restorative outcomes.
The study also suggests that body contouring as a whole—including both upper and lower body treatments—is seeing a cross-regional boom. Patients are no longer settling for a single treatment; many are searching for complementary procedures to achieve more comprehensive results.
